1962 Ford Thunderbird

Owners: Gary Lewis
Wildwood, MO

Here's a few pictures of
my mildly customized 1962 Ford Thunderbird Hardtop

I have always been a
 repressed car guy who
 finally decided to do
something about it before
I got too old to enjoy it!

I bought this car in
Kalispell, MT in June of
 2002 because I liked it's
 clean lines. The car was
 stripped to bare metal,
 nosed, shaved, and decked
 by Dave Stark.

Roger Shattuck of Special Effects applied the Silver Blue Metallic with BC 180 metal flake, followed by
 four coats of clear, color
sanded and buffed.

It features a balanced
 and blueprinted Ford
 High Performance M Code
390 cu. in. with 10:5:1
 compression and Tri-Power
 (3 x 2 barrel carburetors)

It has been lowered two
 inches and sports 17 x 8
American Racing Tork
Thrust wheels with
255/45 rubber

The drive train is a
Ford C-6 transmission
with  a 9-inch rear end.

Although the engine bay looks okay, I plan to detail
it some more this year
and install Vintage Air
 Conditioning next year.
