ROY'S HOTRODS

A 35 Chev getting massaged

Checking the fit

All new running board in place fabricated by Roy and waiting final finishing

Very cool Jig that can be adjusted all directions and allows for the body to be moved around as necessary

Getting the fit just right

The trunk lid is now in place.. the whole lid was lowered down about six inches. 2 1/2" were added to the deck up top to lower the upper edge of the trunk lid further down the body and about 5 inches was added to the trunk lid on the bottom to bring it lower towards the roll pan.... lookin good

The frame for the 35

Corvette rear end

Corvette Front suspension with a Ford rack going on to provide directional control

The hood and side skirt are a temporary mock up to get perspective on what would be required for the planned roof chop. As you can see the front end has been extended. This angle tends to exaggerate the length somewhat though.

The side view puts more in proportion

Both rear fenders now in place

Yowzer ... the top is gone in preparation for the top chop

A view of the door and rear window cut lines ... note the bracing inside the car to keep everything square. This bracing is a must do

Note the clever way the treatment for the rear window was dealt with

The top is lowered back on for final fitting and cutting

Lining up the front pillars... check this top drop to the stock height in the pictures above to see the change. Also note that the front windshield valance has be lowered so the front windshield height matches the side windows even thought the roof has been lowered. It is attention to detail like this that makes the difference between a chop and a great chop. Filling of the roof coming soon. Who is that guy with the gray hair ?

This is a relief cut in the front pillar that is still attached to the roof section. These are an absolute to remove any strain from the roof that may cause distortion.

Here is a shot of the front pillar and the relief cuts made to align this pillar as the top come down. The window frame on the door will be made to follow this line

The top is lowered inside the rear valance for marking the amount of material to be removed from the roof

The Chop is completed and the roof is filled. Note how the front window lower frame matches the door window lower frame.... attention to detail

Check back frequently.... we will adding more pictures of this 35 Roy is working on and show how it progresses from what you see here to the finished product.
