John Uzzell Memorial Run sponsored by "The North Island Cruisers".
John Uzzell
was a local business man, street rodder and all round great guy. He
died last year in a tragic plane
crash while on a fishing trip on Vancouver Island. The rodding
community thought enough of him to name the annual
run in his honor. He was well known as a good guy by all who knew him.
It was a
great, sunny day in Campbell River and the largest turnout for this run to
date and was held in the Tyee
Plaza parking lot. There where over 200 vehicles in this open event.
We recognized people from all over the island
as well as a number from the lower mainland. We also noted that the
late Marc Hylands 1930 Chev coupe was on hand
as a memorial to him. Marc was a well known local business man deeply
involved in the community who sadly passed
away last year leaving a
great family and many friends. We all miss him dearly.
