POWER TRAIN: 350 Chevrolet Automatic 4 speed, 91 Ford Thunderbird independent suspension system with positraction,
MODIFICATIONS:
Top
chopped 3 1/2 inches, Body channelled 2 1/2 inches, Door posts
slanted forward 3 inches, all 4 fenders widened 2 inches to cover wider wheel
stance for Jaguar and T Bird suspension. Rear Fenders shortened 8 inches,
trunk door removed and rear shortened 7 inches. Gas filler pipe
relocated to rear behind frenched license plate niche. Hood extended
2 inches and hood height also reduced 2 1/2 inches to match channelling.
Rear roll pan strengthened and shaped with the use of a Ford pick up truck roof
(above window) inverted at bottom of rear panel . Rain gutter shortened and
dropped to follow back window lines. Head lights grafted from 54 Ford,
corners of doors rounded, Grill modified with 46 Mercury on top and Ford grill
inverted on the bottom. Headlights and Tailights frenched and tunnelled.
Side body panels flared an additional 3 1/4 inches to meet widened fender
profile. (stock flare was slight and did not meet fender profile). Door
handles replaced with Honda Civic latches and the tail lights are custom
Rolling Stock:
Front End : 83 Jaquar independent suspension modified with new coil overs and air bag suspension with shocks repositioned behind them.
Rear End : 91 Ford Thunderbird independent suspension system with positraction
Chassis and Drive Train : 46 Mercury with strengthened frame members. Chevrolet yoke and Ford driveshaft. US Wheels with custom Mercury logo inserted in center cap
Wiring : Old Car Centre wiring kit
Radiator : Stock flat head radiator reworked to close one top and open one bottom port to fit chevy engine block.
Gauges : Stock 46 Mercury 114X
Tires : Michelin 195/65R 15 front and Michelin 225/75R 15 rear
Brakes : 11 inch rotors in front and 11 inch disc in rear
Headlights : Halogen
Audio : 10 stack CD player located below back package tray behind folding rear seat, - AM/FM Radio relocated to Glove Box
Steering Column : Buick Tilt
Steering Wheel : Leather wrapped Gray Lecarra
Paint : PPG 2004 Chrysler Inferno Red Pearl Coat
Exhaust System : 2 1/4 inch dual pipes and mufflers run together in rear to form one center exhaust port.
